Press Statements
The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) condemns in the strongest terms the decision by the Harare City Council to bar commuters from entering the city center and relocating bus terminuses to the periphery of the city.
This highly unpopular and insensitive move was done without consulting stakeholders and has seriously inconvenienced workers and other commuters. More so, workers have to cough extra money to get into the city center.

ZCTU - Zimbabwe National Centre for the Labour Movement
Let me welcome you all members of the Press to this Press Conference. We have called this conference specifically to talk about the situation at Hwange Colliery Company. As you are aware, spouses of Hwange Colliery workers are currently camped at the company premises demanding outstanding salaries of their husbands, and they have been there since Monday 29 February 2018. This is despite the varying adverse weather conditions. It has been hot, cold and wet but they have continued with their struggle.

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) notes with concern the reports of a leak in the O’ Level English Paper 2 Examination Paper. This is a clear sign of a rotten system that needs serous investigations.

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) condemns in strongest terms the failure by responsible authorities to intervene and bring to an end the labour dispute that has engulfed Hwange Colliery Company.
Further to our Press Statement issued on 18 December 2017 on the current price hikes, the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) notes with concern that authorities are just making rhetoric and there is no progress in solving the issue.
The ZCTU has, therefore, resolved that if nothing tangible is done, it will activate its structures and come mid-January 2018, we will be calling for national action against both the Government and business.
